How did you get started in powerlifting?- I started weight training for conditioning when I was 16 years old in a friends basement. I would train in my off season from baseball and  noticed that I was getting strong. I decided to join a gym a couple years later and started powerlifting then. By the time I was 20 and at 165lbs I was squatting 525, benching 358 and dead lifting 560. Family life set in after 21 and then took off 23 years. I'm now 49 and have managed to get my squats back to 500, bench 341 and dead lift near 600.

Favorite lift?- The dead lift           

Goals for lifting?- Get my squat over 550, 400 bench, 600+ dead lift and place 1st at the 2016 Raw Nationals in October.

Accomplishments?- 4th place at USAPL Raw Nationals 2015, 8th place at USAPL Raw Nationals 2016

Age?- 21

Lift numbers?- Squat is 514lbs, bench is 314lbs and deadlift is 524lbs

How did you get started in powerlifting?-I maybe only 20 years old but I already have almost 8+ years of lifting experience. I started like most people, I was in the gym and doing the free programs I ran across online to try and "look good", but part of me was way more satisfied when I was squatting and deadlifting heavy weight my freshman year of high school. Back then I was not aware that you could lift heavy stuff just for sport so continued with bodybuilding-esk routines throughout high school. Like a lot of people I found powerlifting and strength sports through my local cross fit box. A couple years later I finally signed up for my first meet and started taking pure strength training seriously; about that same time I meet Al. 

What kind of education/experience do you have?- I am a NASM certified personal trainer and I am working on my NASM weight loss specialist certification. I am also a Precision Nutrition Level 1 coach and I am in the current master Level 2 course. I have been coaching people for 4+ years now. I have competed and coached on a national level.

Favorite lift?- The squat

Goal for lifting?- I want to get top 5 at USAPL nationals in the next couple years while I am still in the junior age group.
